Restoration
Peterborough rowboat
Over the years I have done a number of restoration projects, both large and small. I first consult with owners on the extent of work required and develop timelines for the work and estimates of cost. I am prepared to perform work that matches original, traditional construction or offer options of modern materials and methods. Ultimately the goal is to meet the clients’ needs for a cost-effective option to create a safe, durable, long-lasting boat.
I have done large-vessel restoration work for the National Park Service at Point Reyes National Seashore and the Shelburne Museum. You can read my article about the lifeboat restoration here. You can read my article about the restoration of the Maine-built picnic boat Maddy Sue here.
